The Ready4ReadingBookClub was established by Lynette Ramirez, who saw a need at the local Homeless Shelter, Domestic Violence Shelter and Food Banks for a reading program. After doing research and learning the statistics on children living at homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and children who must get their food from local food banks, Lynette knew that a reading program in the high desert was well overdue.

The Ready4ReadingBookClub's long-term mission is a community where below-poverty children's literacy needs are

met. For effective long term community improvement, we will

work to increase the general public awareness of the literacy

and health problems that affect below-poverty children.
